APC 7th overall, 1st vet 40, a result! Enjoyed this very much, sadly this inspite of extremely poor marshalling verging on dangerous, poor direction, marshals stood in pairs chatting on mobiles. I and other runners had to stop to ask them the way. Its hard to point the way when you have one hand on the mobile at your ear and the other in your pocket! No race should involve stopping twice to try and work out which way the arrow was supposed to be pointing because it was tied to a 1/2 cm diameter stick which had blown over! Having to wait 48 hours for results is not really on in this day and age. I have had better experiences at much cheaper and better organised races. I know it is hard to get marshals to races, I know race direction is a thankless task, I know the weather was c_ap, I know the police won't help, I know its hard to get the council involved but whilst the course is great, other runners fantastic, advance organisation fantastic...on the day, not so good.
