I am a member of Woodbridge Shufflers running club, near Ipswich, and started running in 1998. The Hastings marathon on December 14, 2008, was my 150th race and Hastings is where I trained to be a journalist 26 years ago.
I ran the South African Comrades in 2009, after being inspired by a feature I read in Runners' World, and I used the Hastings marathon as my qualifying race.
