47, married, father of four, French. I have lived in the UK for the last sevenyears. I got into serious running (I've always been doing a bit before, but wasn't a 'proper' runner...) seven/eight years ago. I've run a number of 10Ks and half marathons and also completed five marathons over the last five years and raised thousands of pounds for charities. I enjoy distance running (up to a certain limit) and a variety of running styles/sessions (Tempo, Fartlek, Speed work). I'm essentially a 'road runner' (well, road and trail), as opposed to a fell runner which clearly, is not for me - I hate ploughing through mud with a passion!
What I really enjoy most is running with a group of buddies and having a good time. I don't want to be too competitive ('cause I know I can really be), as it can be at the expense of enjoyment. I equally happily run on my own, which gives me an opportunity to meet with... myself.
My dream? Being able to take a sabbatical leave to go on a l o n g [running] journey from A to B; something like the full distance on one of those long distance trails criss-crossing Europe.
