After being ill for the umteenth time and finding it very difficult to get going again my Doctor advised me to take up some form of excersise. I decided to join the Gym and after a few months found my health to be improving. I was so pleased with myself, I hadn't done any excersise since I left school and even then I wasn't interested. Whilst at the Gym I was encouraged to give running a try. I joined a group of beginners. My first run out was for 3/4 of a mile, I nearly died! I did this for a couple of weeks and I felt great. I turned up one evening to find someone else taking us out and he insisted we doubled the distance, I nearly died all over again!! This is how I continued until I was running 3 times a week and doing over 20miles in the week. I have done some races, but get very nervous so now don't do them. I am very proud of the fact that I have done a half marathon and do hope that one day I will do another. I have been through a tough time this year with my running and very nearly gave up. At the moment though I am on a roll and enjoying every time I go out for a run. I am looking forward to getting my running partner back in the New Year as she is out injured at the moment!
