Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

I paid the price for wearing road shoes the day before....I had a massive blood blister under my big toe which had kept me up all night in pain. Despite taping my toe up for the last day, this taping fell off within a few miles and the pain was getting worse. To cut a long story short I managed to run until CP2, walked/jogged to CP3 where I got the votwo staff to re-tape my toe (bless them...they were lovely, and put up with my girly squeals!). Then despite my best attempt I had to resort to walking the rest. Everyone said words of encouragement as they passed me but it didn't ease the fact that they were passing me!! And not being able to run was beyond frustrating, when you know you only have 3 miles left and if you run you'd get to the finish in no time at all but walking it just seemed to take forever. HOWEVER...I made it eventually. My initial feeling was disappointment, I felt i'd failed because i'd not completed it in the way I hoped to....but then I reminded myself that I HAD completed it and that was what mattered, the goal was to finish and I had! Plus I got to see some of the most stunning coastline and met some really lovely people, who really did keep me going at my lowest moments!
Please wait... saving your change.
