Yellow Fang The weather wasn't as scorching hot as last year. In fact, it was a little on the cool and windy side. There weren't as many entrants as last year either: only eleven individuals and two relay teams. Of the individuals, two were ladies and one was nearly seventy (my friend Tom). I nearly missed the start because there weren't any portaloos and I had trouble finding a suitable bush. The silliness got underway. The leader sped off on the run. I kept him in sight until the massive hill half way round. I didn't get lost this time and arrived back at the start at around an hour and two minutes. The bog-snorkeling was through two sixty foot trenches. I forgot my flippers, but it didn't matter too much. I can't say I really enjoyed it though. The MTB course wasn't quite as steep or as technical as I remembered it, although it was plenty steep and technical enough. I nearly went over the bars at one point because I wasn't concentrating on my line properly. I finished at about two hours and forty-one minutes. I actually made up some time on the leader during the bike ride, so perhaps I should have tried a bit harder, especially as the winner won a crate of beer. Reading Roadrunners 4:00:00 4:00:00
