Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Still in, went to collect a bug but missed it as I was on wrong side of road, a bit of a hassle to cross over 4 lanes of road. Wore gloves for first 10 mins as it was pretty cold out this morning.

I kept my hands up my sleeves and wished I'd taken my gloves for most of my run this morning.

Thanks all for your earlier comments. It’s not so much the dark I fear about Tuesday’s run - pretty soon all my runs will have to start and finish in the dark - but the mileage. Although I’ve been running (almost) every day since March, all my runs have been 4-6 miles and now I have a complete mental block about my ability to go any further. I just have to hope that the thought of falling at the last hurdle will be sufficient incentive to go the extra mile.

I’ve been on the road all day and am now about to drive 100 miles back home, so tonight’s run will definitely be in the dark. Thankfully it only needs to be 4 miles.

My favourite trick is to add the extra distance at the start of the run. Find a route you know well, but add a little loop at the start.

Fetch, that’s a great tip, thank you, I’ll definitely be trying that. I’m going to suss out a one mile loop that finishes at the start point of my usual 6 mile route, do the loop first, and then hopefully power round my 6 mile route on autopilot oblivious to the fact that I’ve already run an extra mile. Mind games. 😁

Tonight’s run is finally in the bag. Still in. 👍
