Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Last long run at marathon pace for me, the rest is all easy (lol)

I do have the Hastings Half coming up as my tune-up race, looking forward to that

Minimag 17 miles at MP ?

You and riggys99 have a special talent to do these runs in training.

That said I never ran more than 10 miles at MP outside of an actual marathon and doubt I went much over 5 in one go in a solo training run ever.

It is interesting looking at how people approach marathon work.

I'm doing 2 to 4 with MrsG later

Gobi, I am following Pfitzinger and Douglas 55 miles per week or less 18 week marathon plan, the plan called for:
Long Run
17mi
17 miles with 14 miles at marathon race pace

However, the calculators suggest I can do a marathon at 8:23 mile pace, I am aiming for 8:50, and thats the pace I did this run at, most of my long runs are at 9:30 pace, 67s slower than my suggested marathon pace

Respect to doing that solo in March. My long runs were anywhere from 1.30 to 4mins per mile slower than MP but then I was 100k training in those days .

I used to do a half marathon with a long warm up and then a couple afterwards but the 13 was always faster than MP.
