I know it's just for fun - it just seems that the morning commuter has an unfair advantage over those who for work/life reasons can't do their stint until the evening (you can tell I'm a public sector manager, with this deep concern over fairness of policies for those who are affected by demands of work/life balance).
Obviously level of opacity will be an issue in an overlay, but I would like to easily be able to see which paths/roads I can use to run/ride through unclaimed parts of the grid.
As I said, early days, but it was just an observation that I was pleased to see today's detour, carefully planned to squish a bug, earned me some new squares, rather than me planning a route to win squares. Although this is possibly partially to do with the walkover nature of this week's match (so far - until the Icemaiden awakes...or melts...or freezes...or whatever it is that Icemaiden's do to mean they suddenly leap into action) .
I hadn't thought of the opposite angle of "zoom round the zeros"...I guess this links in nicely with the second one, making it easier to plan a route to mop up a whole chunk of zeros.

I found it difficult trying to plan a route with that miniscule map. An overlay would be an excellent addition.

For the game front screen can the score of the current match be visible somewhere near the top of the screen (maybe in the panel with view current match)?
When I just want a quick look at the current score I currently have to scroll down until I find my match - so instead I tend to click into "view the current match" because that is quicker than scrolling down to find myself in the list.

I also like the idea of the map being on the score grid. Maybe it needs to be both on the score grid and next to it?
