It’s based on the Elo system that was originally developed for chess rankings. A low ranking player picks up proportionately more for beating a high ranking player. It just shows 16s right now because everyone started on 1000.

It helps that she's not scored any points at all so far, but I still felt the need to mop up some more squares to build a healthy lead fetcheveryone.com/wsw-match.php?id=310 Matches will be generated at midday, along with an update to the rankings, which should see some more balanced matchups. It'll probably take a few weeks to settle though - thanks for your patience.
