Great job solo, it sucks not to be able to perform at 100% on the day.
But you handled it and got a great time still. Well done!

Very well done, solo. To be able to come away with a time like that on a day when everything didn't come together for you shows just how much talent and grit you have as a runner.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate your comments. I am disappointed tbh but I also know I couldn't have done anymore on this day.

Aw solo tough day at the office and must feel frustrating after that 20 miler but still, incredible running - to be able to pull off a comfortable GFA under those conditions is a credit to how good a runner you are! ❀️

Thanks Charlesvdw I did have a GFA already but this gives me 15 mins under the new GFA time that's needed now so hopefully should be pretty certain.

Thank you auburnette All the fun of the marathon which is why it is always a challenge and rarely a certainty! My heart rate data is interesting but isn't it always? Average heart rate was 139 bpm. Abingdon in October was 144 bpm for a couple of minutes slower. Obviously I just couldn't push with my stomach issues. Think they were stress related as currently going through a separation with my partner and all my food was the same as usual.

I am very excited to see what everyone does next weekend. Hope those who have been unwell are heading in the right direction 🀞

Commiserating you solo on your disappointment and then congratulating you on toughing it out and STILL improving on a gfa time.

I get the frustration side. Always a bugger when you know your can do better. But take the wins from the day when your heads back in the game properly. It's still really great running.
