Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Splendid thread Minardi👏👏👏

Have always entered a marathon with at least a vague notion of target finish time, but getting to the startline is always my key goal.

I’ve never taken a finish line for granted mind, particularly since I got marshalled the wrong way at Southampton a few years ago for a ‘dnf’. Finish lines have taken on an even greater significance since then.

See you at North Dorset Villages westmoors!

Having had a bit of an injury 'mare for the last couple of years (my last one was March 2020), I'm really hoping to get to the end of a marathon sometime this year - I've entered one of Foxy's Enigmas in March in rather unrealistic hope, but nothing ventured, nothing gained as the saying goes!

I've got others later in the year as well.

Great idea for a thread. I've not yet attempted a Marathon properly, I just walked the Virtual London in 2020 due to a lack of motivation during the summer, then hurt myself in 2021 and had to defer so I'm now going to try again in October... The problem being that I haven't done very much running for months!
My plan is to start using the C25K program then Hal Higdon's base building program, the his Novice program and if all else fails I'll walk it again.
Wish me luck!

About This Thread

Maintained by minardi
We've all seen the sub 3hr, sub 4hr, sub 4.30hr threads and looked on in awe. I'm now at the age when I'm happy just to see the finish line, regardless of time taken.

So this is a thread to celebrate the finish line, not the finish time.

All welcome!
