Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The weather was completely wrong for sprint track work yesterday - even the winter version - but I managed to really make my session count in spite of heavy rain and wind.

Am quite proud because I find long, slow reps very difficult but I was disciplined with them and was reward with some properly fast short reps (a 100 and 3 x 50) at the end. They were better than expected so my programme is working I reckon.

Boot camp write-up is in my training. I did 9.30 but the sessions are the same. And I'm declaring it a Quality Session

(bent-over row is the 'something with weights' I think. Unless she did something different at 9.30)

I did bootcamp today as well, although the outside one is usually different to the online ones.

Most of the exercises are cardio or body weight, but she uses resistance bands to mimic weights. Eg deadlifts - resistance bands held under the feet - use leg strength to stand up straight. Bent over row - again band under feet use biceps to pull band up = bicep curls.

That's great Teebs. I'm just about to do the home version of one of my gym sessions and the bar and weights deadlift is subbed with a resistance band. Must get on with it while my black bread is proving in the airing cupboard....

1k at marathon pace followed by 10x400 off equal, static rest. Always a hard session.

Double session at Lee Valley for me this morning ... can't claim high jump or hurdles were true quality but the following gym session was.

For the first, isolated lift (everything else was supersets) I went heavier than I have for a while.

My deadlift PB in 2020 was 55kg. This morning I weighed 114 pounds (8 stone 2lb) which = 51.7 kgs. I did 1 set of 6 reps at 45kg then 2 sets of 6 reps at 50kg. NEARLY bodyweight!

A place to record your quality sessions. Once a week for a kick off, if you can. Doesn't have to be running but for once I'm asking for exercise related stuff.

It has to be a session that you feel ticks all the boxes, something you really commit to, do what you mean to do. No half hearted stuff, but no plod through it either. In the words of my elite sprinter friends, you 'execute'. (Not really my friends it's just what they say on the telly.) Not necessarily hard, a...
