Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Track session for me tonight. Did 3x200, followed by 3x1000 and finishing up with 2x400. The meat of the session is the 1000s and I was aiming for 4 minutes on each one. Overall pleased as I did a 3:57, 4:05 and a 4:06. Just struggling to hold it together. Main thing is to try and concentrate on form though when I get tired and feel like I'm achieving that, so a good session.

Mike who coaches the sessions doesnt always go for exact recoveries, but he is always of the opinion you need a decent recovery between each set, so approx 90 seconds between the 1000s and jog recoveries of 200 between the 200 and 400 sets.

I really like Mike's sessions, not as flat out or hard as the other coaches' session on the same night, but Mike's sessions are all about keeping you in one piece and gradual improvement.

Yay 45 min quality boot camp kept trying right until whistle blowed each time. I’ve not been getting squats quite right was today’s main learning. So the holding squat then jumping squat was useful for that. Knee up to stand and press ups really hard, but I love how careful she is over the lower back this is the first class where I haven’t had backache as standard the next day

Love an instructor/PT/coach who insists on correct form - and notices. Holding squat then jumping squat is a great move ... and tough. Great stuff, Dipps xxx

Quality today was my second Winter Hills session. These are short steep sprint hills and I upped the distance and was stricter with the recoveries today.

Last time was 3 x (55-45-35-35-45-55) walk back recovs. 3 - 4 walk mins between sets.

Today: 3 x (65-55-45-45-55-65) walk backs recovs, 2 to 3 minutes between sets. Closer to 2.

Nice session, interesting to see that even sprinters can't escape hill sessions 😀

About This Thread

A place to record your quality sessions. Once a week for a kick off, if you can. Doesn't have to be running but for once I'm asking for exercise related stuff.

It has to be a session that you feel ticks all the boxes, something you really commit to, do what you mean to do. No half hearted stuff, but no plod through it either. In the words of my elite sprinter friends, you 'execute'. (Not really my friends it's just what they say on the telly.) Not necessarily hard, a...
