Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Tempo runs are tough - keeping up the bloody tempo is what counts ... so well done you.

(Saying 'well done' to people. Acceptable or not? I never say it and don't mean it but worry it sounds patronising nevertheless. However I reckon it's ok as long as I don't admire someone's energy or enthusiasm. Which are both damning with faint praise as far as I'm concerned.)

I like the praise :-) when I started to struggle today I thought “but I want to record this as a quality session” and it kept me going

I agree with Sharkie, tempo sessions are tough but you feel great afterwards! My quality suite for this week is my tempo session this morning. A five miler. The splits were....

1) 9:23
2) 9:51
3) 9:37
4) 9:52
5) 10:10

I tired a bit during the final mile but the pace was still about a minute and a half quicker than last week’s effort over the same route so happy with that! :)

That’s definitely impressive then, dipps. Well done. I was pleased with mine, particularly because the run was before breakfast and so in the dark.

I once had a runner turn round and castigate me for saying well done, saying it was a patronising thing to say..........

...I was marshalling at parkrun!

About This Thread

A place to record your quality sessions. Once a week for a kick off, if you can. Doesn't have to be running but for once I'm asking for exercise related stuff.

It has to be a session that you feel ticks all the boxes, something you really commit to, do what you mean to do. No half hearted stuff, but no plod through it either. In the words of my elite sprinter friends, you 'execute'. (Not really my friends it's just what they say on the telly.) Not necessarily hard, a...
