Never run without it 1) for safety 2) in case I need rescuing! 3) in case mum or her neighbour etc calls as something is very wrong Oh and I listen to audiobooks with it |

I would prefer to not carry the phone and have resisted years of nagging by Mother of Muttley, who wants me to have it on me just in case. But after that feckin dog bit me I feel I need the phone, as much for the camera as anything else. Loads of dog walkers on the trails where I run and I rarely have issues with canines so hopefully it won't be necessary. Currently awaiting a call from the GP about whether to have a tetanus jab. Ordered a Salomon High Pulse belt this morning. |

Curious what is it that people dislike about flipbelts? Is it more a female hips / waist thing? My wife doesn't like it either, but I put it down to her using mine and therefore it fitting badly.

I find the Flipbelt too hot. It's layers of material, feels like wearing a warm winter scarf around the waist. I also disliked the rummaging to find sweets while I was running.

Mine covers over the top roll of my shorts, so it's not in contact with "me" at any point; can't say I notice any heat in any weather with it, but thanks for responding. If something did make part of me overheat I would have exactly the same response as you!

I never used to carry a phone, but when I bought my current car which doesn't recognise my old iPod, I started to use the phone to listen to podcasts and therefore started to carry it on solo runs. If I've got nothing to listen to, or I'm out with others, I don't carry the phone.

Run with a phone 99% of the time. Ronhill shorts have back pocket big enough for most phones. Though newest pair is a tight squeeze to get phone in. Some interesting options here that I might have to investigate. |

I always have a phone "just in case". Hated the flipbelt, gave it to a fetchie (sorry, can't remember who). I now won't buy shorts/capris/leggings if they don't have a thigh pocket but if I wear an old pair without the side pocket, then I have a Karrimor bum bag thing sportsdirect.com |

I always have a phone - because I run during the day when no one else is home, I don't tend to run on pavements and I have a bad habit of falling over which might catch me out one day. I have used it to call the local rural force about hare coursers, when an elderly neighbour fell walking her dog and also to call the owner of a dog that had escaped. When I forget it, Husband or mum always calls me and then frets when I don't answer! |
