Good morning all

The Senate House Yard gate from Kings Parade has frozen shut so currently access to the Yard is only through the gate from Senate House Passage. We will continue to try and get the gate open and the temperature is due to rise slightly in the next hour or two but we also have to be careful not to cause any damage.

We continue to grit and treat the paths but please be careful moving around the site while the weather remains so cold.

The servers at *** will be down for essential maintenance. They will be down in the next 5 minutes for approximately half an hour. This will affect printing and network drives.

You know that odd American phrase "at this time" which tends to get used instead of "now"?

Well I was just in a meeting with a Chief Super who seems to use "has a lived memory of" instead of "remembers".

This, I would suggest, is A Bad Thing.
