No, I haven't. If it keeps bugging me I will, but hoping for a quick fix.

No quick fix I think, maybe a sports massage would fix it, otherwise I'd say you need more time not doing what aggravates it so it can heal completely.

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
I forgot about this thread, been on the bench for a few weeks now, recurring issue with piriformis causing sciatica, then managed to pull my hamstring twice in one afternoon, seems to be easing a bit at last, may try a couple of minutes on the treadmill in a few days 🤞

RunningRonnie wrote: Hope this is the right place for this question... I've got an annoying niggle every time I run. I get a pain at the top of the muscle in my calf. It comes after about 1 mile in and takes several days to go again. Walking makes it feel a bit better afterwards, as I can feel the muscle stretching a wee bit. It seems to occur quicker when running slightly uphill. I've not been running very often (about once per 2 weeks). I am doing a fair bit of walking though and it never bothers me while walking. Wondering if I should just persevere with short runs, but more frequently until it builds up a bit of strength. It's not agony, but definitely a bit sore. Might be worth trying compression socks. I use them sporadically when I get calf pain. Usually end up wearing them for a few runs to support and assist and then I go back to normal socks. In your case, I'd maybe start with wearing a pair post run, after you've showered. See how that goes. And if there's no obvious improvement, I'd wait until it's clear and then the next run I'd run in them and see how that goes. But I am no physio or doctor, obviously. |

Thanks Mark, sometimes I stick them on at my desk. I've been running parkrun around once or twice per month since then and it so far it's been OK, so I think it's just a case of building up gradually. |
