NO MORE RUNNING - I'M BROKEN!!!!!

I've been running on/off since 1999, regularly from 2005. Always been slow - first 10K took 76 mins! Slightly faster now and secretly dream of a 4:30 marathon.
Favourite race distance is 10 miles.
I run to keep healthy, reduce stress and to be able to have croissants occasionally without worrying about my weight.

2013 Goals:

1. Swim a whole mile in one session
2. Complete Aspire Channel Challenge Sept-Dec (22 miles over 12 weeks)
3. Cycle 700 miles so will have to start commuting again
4. Get knee sorted so I can run again
5. Join gym to get some proper cross-training done

2012:

Running-wise - a disaster :-(

1. Learn proper front-crawl with breathing - DONE :-) New goal is the Aspire Channel Swim challenge - reached half-way which is a good start
2. Get into running routine of 3-4 times a week and run 700 miles. OFF :-(
3. Keep up cycling into work 3 times a week and cycle 1500 miles - downgraded to 1200 miles now. Target off now as back in physio
4. Do some new races - er not really managed this!
5. Do some proper *consistent* cross-training - not that successful so far but have bought Shred DVD
6. Think about autumn marathon - Loch Ness is OFF :-( Knee is iffy again so nor more marathons for the foreseeable future

2011:
1. Get back to running 3-4 times a week and incude some proper cross-training. Also do some speed work and try Primose Hills with Serpies - not completely successful
2. Complete 500 miles this year - close but not quite
3. Finish Brighton Marathon in one piece having got this close to the start. And ABSOLUTELY promise that I won't do another marathon until next year ;-) I won't even plan one until 2012! - DONE!!! :-)
4. Do some shorter races, e.g. Hampstead 10K (June/July?), Parkrun 5K, Windsor Half (September) and maybe Cabbage Patch 10 (October?) - done except for Windsor Half :-)

2010:
V. bad year :-( Missed several months due to illness and crappy knee.
1. Run 1200 miles - NO WAY! :-(
2. Run Brighton in 11 min. miles - NO :-( DNS
3. Another crack at PBs for the Grand Prix in July - another fail :-O

2009:
1. Run 1000 miles - DONE :-)
2. Do some proper speed training - *update* have started Tuesday night track sessions. So far, so good...
50/50 result for speed training. Missed PB for mile but did take a few secs off 1K time. Missed next 2 races due to cold/flu.
3. Run Venice in 11 min. miles - NO :-( didn't run it at all
