Sigh
@Weath, if you move your home point mid-week it'll readjust all your entries for that week - at least, that's what happened to me. I think.

Feel free to move your home point to somewhere on Antarctica Weath, just to check Sigh's theory of course!

But remember you can't move it again for 7 days!

The squares you've already hit will stay hit. So for example, if you visit D3 by running along Acacia Avenue, then move your home point so that D3 is now covering Berkley Square, you won't lose the points from when it was Acacia Avenue. So it does offer potential for gaming the system, if you're willing to put the effort in.

That would make sense Sigh. I've moved mine but there was nothing logged within either area from earlier in the week so I haven't proved anything! Perhaps someone else can have a little play with it to test it out.

The reason I'm asking is that I typically do my weekday runs from 'home', whereas my weekend sessions are about 30 miles away. Allowing me to swap the map on a Friday say to allow for these 2 different locations (without penalty) gives the game more weekly longevity for me.
@ StuH It won't quite be Antarctica (although almost as desolate!) but I will be re-positioning as a test this weekend. Gotta keep you on your toes matey!
Generally I'm enjoying this game so far, but as others have said the advantage for being first to daily log could be a bit of a pain in posterior.

That is a really good plan Weath. I was thinking my square grabbing was over for the week but I could move my home to parkrun for the weekend.
I have mixed feelings about the first to log. If you run less than your opponent but run earlier it can make the game more even, but if your opponent runs more and runs earlier then you really don't stand a chance at all. Maybe it could be limited to the first 5 squares logged for the day score double so that there is still an incentive to log early but not such a massive difference in the scoring if you do?

The 7 day limit will obviously restrict swapping back and forth between 2 locations on a weekly basis (in terms of getting back to the original 'home' point ready for the next match), but at least it gives the opportunity to maximise your own squares depending on your oppo's movements to date.

Weath and Elsie, that doesn't work if you do both the difference locations within any 7 day period. If you move it on Friday, you catch your parkrun or other weekend location, but you'll then miss the work ones over the next few days. You could gain from that every other week, but lose on the week in between. If I've understood it correctly. G

I like your capping suggestion Elsie - that's a compromise I could live with.
