Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Obviously the answer is land owners and councils keeping footpaths clear

But that won’t happen

Maybe I should take a big stick with me to beat a path?!?!

ride to dentist, mostly out of square :-) - this 🚲 is instead of 🚘 ,useful for fetch games though it weighs a ton & more if loaded.

Have convinced myself that post sting overnight nettle tingling is good joint therapy, they’re really rampant at the moment.

Last year I started running the North Cheshire Way in stages (had to pause when I hurt my knee - all fine again now).

Large parts of the westward side are just permitted paths around fields; well marked but not footpaths or trails in any way. And several of the paths enter the fields in the corner, where there’s no crop or pasture, just neglected and overgrown.

With nettles. Like 10 meters of them, up to my shorts. It was hopeless to try and dodge them; I tried stamping on them a bit but it was too much, in the end I just embraced them (not literally, I mean accepted them) and let them have me.

Didn’t really hurt. By the end of the run my legs were kind of glowing and they had that numb feeling where you touch part of your body and you can feel it but it doesn’t feel like it’s your skin that’s being touched, more you’ve been told it’s you. Even the next day they were a bit like that.

Didn’t actually hurt though, and only itched in a vague distant way. And I felt well hard ;-)

Lol maybe they are therapeutic, like a bee sting, unless you’re allergic. (I’m sad the bee dies, but be useful if nettles did)

Must admit I quite like being stung by nettles, that tingling sensation is strangely pleasant!
