Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

*groan* I've got dirtbum this week so not much chance of winning there, I'll just have to try and get as many squares as I can to stay in multiplay another week.

I haven’t really been paying attention closely enough, but is there a target range of “squares visited” for the 128-player week that should see competitors with zero “squares owned” make the cut for week 2? Or is it essential to own at least one square?

I don't think that you need to own squares early on, just visit lots of different ones to stay in. That's how it appeared to me last time.

AR - sorry, that was what I meant to ask! Would you hazard a guess as to a "safe" number of squares to visit in week 1 in order to stay in?

Simply going from memory I don’t think you need to own a square in round one to get through - but I’m sure someone will have all the statistics...

I think that's right. In the first week if you visit about 100 squares that enough. Saying that, it depends on how much everyone runs!

I know it seems like a question for the unambitious, but I'm up against it this week. My grid is in St Ives until Friday (and I am not!)!

Sorry, my friend's grid. ;-)
