Anyone else signing up for the UK Cross races at Sefton Park? Have attended a few times but not run before, course often looks v boggy but panting around will probably be better for me than spectating!

@Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs) no worries just keeping it low key at the moment anyway as I'm coming back from a back problem so not running particularly well but hoping doing lots of races will help 😂😂

@larkim I've done Liverpool cross before. It's hot stuff level wise but an easy course, nothing too muddy in my experience.

Maybe it's just spectating that is invariably boggy!!

Agree the course is unspectacular though. Getting lapped by Olympians past and future though is appealing!!

Hope you enjoyed? I'm not long back from pack down. Just over 40 mins for me, field was stacked. I looked for your trademark red cap but never spotted you! |

Thanks @rhb, I was just over 41 mins and pleased with how it went. I saw you ahead of me early on, but no real chance of me closing the gap. A bit hard underfoot - especially down the 'hills' in the wooded section - but always a lot of fun. Here's hoping for a muddier version when we're back there for the last race! |

I miss the maccl races. The club my boys were in was affiliated, so we always turned up enough masse. Post pandemic, two have left home, one has taken up rugby instead and the other was never too keen, so whilst I'm still technically a member of the club I think they've dropped the affiliation too as too few youngsters were turning up from our club. Stockport, Boggart, Wythenshawe, even Kenworthy Woods (!) all good courses with something different. |
