Jovi, that's a bummer really.
Some dog owners really should not be dog owners and they have no care for anyone else. The number of near misses I have had are unbelievable. They put the responsible dog owners to shame.
I am giving parkrun a blast again tomorrow as it fits well with this weeks plan which has an LR with 2 x tempo section in near start and end.
Chris, hope the weather forecast improves for you and you run the time you have trained for.

That's a complete pig Jovi, really bad news and despite being a dog owner, I don't like German shepherds they scare me... Hope you recover quickly.
Weather forecast is interesting for Sunday, not really changed but the winds don't start getting up until the time the race starts, and the wind warning isn't til the afternoon (long after should have finished), so there is hope. I can envisage a scenario where the wind stays light until half way and then starts giving some active assistance later on. It's not a write off yet.
There is another 20 miler 3 weeks later, currently sold out, but the waiting list is still open, which is the one I failed on so poorly last year. The original one's course suits me better, and I know it, and as I've already organised a lift down with friends, no point in bailing, just a case of how easy/hard to take it.

At the moment its blustery Cornish mizzle, and according to the weather, pretty much identical to what we start in tomorrow. I just walked the dog in it to get a feel for it. If it stays like this, I think I might start as planned.

Wild weather in Yorkshire too - high winds & torrential rain. I'm almost relieved I don't have to run tomorrow.

Long run done before lunch time! Only 19.2 but crazy windy and some reasonable ups and downs in there, so I'll count that! Hope Chris's Cornish 20 goes well. G

Yes, it was a bit blowy out there today in East Scotchland. In fact the wind had died down as it was howling overnight and kept me awake for hours.
Only 13 for me today, but I did do 17 yesterday with a parkrun and tempo included.
