Flanker I lived on Ascension Island for 2 years and now live next to an army base near the coast with a golf course a mile away!

Why does there have to be skill involved, why can’t it just be a bit of childish fun?

Fun or skill, a new game will no doubt find it's own set of devotees and suit some people more than others, just like all the other games. Let's see where it goes.

Not sure there's much skill to WSW. You just need to get out a lot (and get out early - not particularly skillful in my opinion). As the fang-farrier says ^^ it's horses for courses - this won't necessarily suit everyone.
It strikes me that if I hide in the sea that'll not be "sea" on everyone's map so there's limited advantage!

Pothunter, it shouldn't matter if someone is hiding on your inaccessible golf course because on another fetchie's grid that might be bang in the middle of their standard daily run.

No advantage to getting out early in WSW any more, Angus. I'd say there is a skill in terms of mapping out a route, so that you pass through squares that add to your score rather than ones that don't (running through squares where you're already say 6 ahead doesn't help you).

Aye, maybe. I don’t play it any more so my opinion is of low value.

My point was really more about not needing to be skill-based to be worthwhile.

I'll give this a chance - what's the worst that could happen?
It's obviously possible that two or more of us could choose the same square to hide in. Will the game 'allow' that? Alternatively, does it actually matter one way or the other?
