Was it you that mentioned the book 'the art of coarse rugby', Linds? I stuck it on my wishlist before Christmas, and lo and behold, my father in law bought it for me.
I may read it in the bath tomorrow.

That sounds lovely Mrs J!
Almost snap here. Saturday was my complete rest day - no yoga, never mind anything else. After that I felt fine for two yogas sandwiching an hour of lower body resistance work.
Today I'll just do 22 mins of the daily yoga thing - then meeting Raffo at this afternoon in the West end for (cut price) Pizza Express followed by swishy theatre visit, which we're both really lookng forward to. NOT Sadlers Wells for a change!

I also got up quite late - 8.20. I think left to my own devices I go to bed after midnight rather than before and therefore wake up a bit later.
I'm a pretty good sleeper - although age means waking up half way through the night quite often. Not the wee call of the wee hours yet ... although I sometimes think I might as well!
Good sleep is important but having said that THE best masters athlete I know (world records etc at 70) has always been a very poor sleeper.

I certainly cannot describe myself as a world class athlete, but for 70 years, I could describe myself as a poor sleeper. However my recent adventures with my Vivoactive 3 make me wonder about the definition of poor sleeper. I will collect a bit more data before I draw conclusions but the comparison of stress recording with my sleep record indicates that I do recover well even when my subjective experience is that I am sleeping poorly. However this is a very tentative conclusion so far.

Is enforced rest allowed? I’ve been taken out by a bug it’s floored me completely. Different types of bug symptoms aches, pains ,head ache, sneezing, sore throat a cough to break a rib! I’m done in.
Tried to sit on sofa and watch some prime video starting with Brittany runs a marathon (I don’t have netfix for the Berkeley marathon & Fiona Oakes movies but may have to do a free trial!) and the darn thing keeps stopping with an error.
I’m not good at being ill I am grumpy as I want to run although walking the stairs feels insurmountable at the moment. Sigh.
