Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Baz, it's supposed to be backward compatible! See techspot.com for more info.

I'd suggest it's more likely to do with the O/S on the laptop, or most likely of all, Garmin's atrocious software.

What if you uninstall everything Garmin related, and re-install. Avoiding Express if at all possible? It took me a couple of goes for it to work, even though I did exactly the same thing the second time.

Similar, not a problem but a challenge!
Anyone ever used a Galaxy Tab, Ant+ stick, Ant+ driver from Google play store, to upload data to Garmin Connect? I suspect I may have to dig out some coding skills to do it....

My Garmin Connect has gone doolally since I changed broadband providers on the 22nd. I'm psyching myself up to de-installing and re-installing stuff. At least I can still upload to Fetch. I've got a 110 so have to wire mine up to upload.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I'm afraid I now have nothing to complain about. Everything is working fine (unless I walk past the computer with the 610 and walk away before the download is complete) and landing swiftly on Fetch. Garmin Express seems effective on my aging laptop.

defo not backwards compatible on this new laptop.....

my old desktop has been de-commissioned, but wife has agreed to maintaining an old tired laptop in the bedroom for garmin upload purposes, as the ant+ stick seeemed to work with that along with the new direct upload.....

The transfer from ANT agent to Garmin Connect failed this morning ( ie not a problem with Fetch in any way ) "Activity transfer to Garmin Connect failed" message showing in the Garmin ANT Agent.

I had problems a few days ago with nothing working on connect like edit etc. Turns out it was Garmin Express that was causing the problem. I uninstalled it and reinstalled the Ant+ and its working now. I've seen loads of people complaining on the Garmin site that they havent been able to upload and stuff over the past couple of weeks

The FIT file got transferred onto my hard drive OK, so just loaded the run to Fetch from there, not really bothered about my runs appearing on GC, just nice to have the auto upload to fetch.

It will probably resolve itself next time I try, and then I'll have to remove the duplicates ;-)

I may be going over old ground here but........
I'm getting duplicate data when I upload my garmin runs/cycles into my log. I recently (3 months ago) changed garmins (405 to 610) but I'm sure just before the switch I was getting the same duplication on the old watch.
When I select the device and upload the data it only shows up once but when I go to my log its there in duplicate. HELP!

About This Thread

Just a little note to say thanks for all the comments here and via feedback. The test phase was useful for knocking off a lot of bugs, but there's nothing like the thrill of putting something live to really get that usability feedback flowing :-)

Here's the TO DO list following feedback from users:

1) Solution for only showing runs since last update - DONE
2) Links on successful import to allow direct route to edit/view - DONE
3) Avoid reloading data on choosing different time view.
4) Stop people pressing the button more than once - DONE
5) Auto detect sport where available.
6) Fix rogue pace zones (reported by Duchess, MacApple et al)
7) Max speed (for Mick173)
8) Smoother import of elevation data.
