To the contrary my possum eating friend, you are working under an assumption at highest and an estimate at best, meaning through training under a given heart rate would be an inaccurate venture, and in turn arguably inefficient to a fair margin.

Glad you liked the link to the long lost thread. so did i, remember reading it a few years back so much more info in the thread. Can't remember who said it in the 50 odd previous posts but understanding it more than i did back then maybe its sinking in now.
Off to bed now as i have a run to do later.

"You are eventually trying to reach a state (some weeks or months down the line) in which you can run 10 miles at HRmarathon with no rise in HR and finish confident that you could go round again at the same pace with no rise in HR or loss in pace at constant HR."
You got to start somewhere so all I have really proved today is that I can run 10,15, or 20 if I was pushing miles at 40 seconds above my target HR with no loss or pace and constant HR ie mile 2 and mile 15 have the same speed/HR.

I now have 3-4 months to run the same course at 7.20 pace with the same results. Hopefulyl I have enough time on my side.
The joy of this approach is still not feeling an ounce of hunger when returning and the sheer lack of stress at running at very low HRs.

Clearly I didn't try hard enough in my max HR test. Just done a parkrun 5k, not balls out by any means, in 17:58, and hit 195. I wonder what it'd feel like with some effort?
