Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

C Block - there's no place like it.

In a weekly spiel from Management..... "My summer plans are a trip to Portugal with the family after the half year results are announced next week, which I am looking forward to." That's suitably ambiguous!

Motivation for the many staff that can't afford a holiday to know the bosses are sorted.

I remember a half year state of the nation presentation from our director a few years ago where he presented the half year figures and exhorted us to work hard to achieve the annual budget before finishing with the throw away line that his and the senior management team's bonus depended on it :)

Funnily enough I made a crack to one of my colleagues earlier about a director's bonus.... ;-)

They're still doing their best to stop Badger claiming his expenses:

Dear Colleague

Work is continuing with providers SAP Concur to restore the correct default approvers.

Please advise those claiming expenses to check the approver before submitting a claim.

Users will be advised when the issue has been resolved.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

I spent a happy hour on Tuesday trying to get management approval for a new work mobile phone. The online ordering system has the name and email address of the director who left at the end of June, the new lady hasn't started yet, and final "owner" of the cost centre in the system is some poor lady in the HR team who set up the cost centre, and is considerably junior to me in the hierarchy!

The issue remains unresolved. My old phone will drop off the work security approved list at the end of the month, so I won't be able to sign in (MFA) after that!

We have a similar system for shared email Inboxes.

Once a year, an automatic email goes from I.T. to the personal address of someone who 'owns' the shared Inbox to ask them to renew it.

We've pointed out over and over again that if that person leaves, the Inbox could die without warning when the renewal is bounced. Why not send the renewal request to the Inbox itself? that way, anyone can answer it and I.T. would get the bonus of knowing that it's monitored. But no, that would be too simple...

Group addresses are fun. Theoretically one of us can own it and add new members. In practice it's simpler for IT to add them, which means I need to keep emailing them to add new guitarists for the director's rock band.

GlennR I may never be repaid for driving to Birmingham at this rate!

Hello All,

We experienced issues from the Landlord plant earlier this morning. Their main controller for air supply has failed, so they have put their equipment in overidae and running it in hand.

I now suspect their controller has affected our BMS ( as they are linked) and I can not control your floors temperature /air flow as required.

I now have to put a call out in to our BMS contractor to assist us.

I would suggest that floors 1,2,3 be occupied instead as we have control over these.

As soon as its resolved I can update you all
