Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Who's bottling it today?

I'm sitting here in the office, in my kit, watching the rain pelting down and the wind is howling. I'm supposed to be doing 20 miles in this.

I've just checked the BBC forecast. At 9am there is a 96% chance of rain and 51mph winds. Weather warnings have been issued.

Not a day for doing 20m. Can you reschedule?

I once set out to do 20m in high winds. At one mile I nearly went home. I managed 15 and was never more glad to get home.

It's my only day this week that I can do a long one. I've arranged to be picked up at the other end by my dad - once I can work out which way the predominant blow is coming from - the weather vane is just spinning!! And I've decided to leave it an hour or so to see what happens (as I type that the sun comes out - bluddy typical!!)

I’m supposed to do a 5 x 400 and 5 x 800 at 5k pace. Last week I did that session into the mother and father of all headwinds. Today it’s Grounghog day.

Good luck Soapy! Can you do slow recoveries into the wind and the fast bit with it behind you? I know what I would do!

Very windy out there today, hope intervals go well Soapy. I find intervals by myself really difficult to do, so usually try and join in with club or other pals.

I've just got a lunch time plod to do, so sunshine and windy is no problem. Assuming rain holds off til then. Last night's very windy and pretty cold 2 mile time trial with club I could cheerfully have cried off. So quite pleased that I went and did it. :-) G

The weather here isn't too bad, just damp and windy. I'm still probably bottling 20 miles again because it's such a long time to be running.

Been out for 30 mins. It felt hard, and not just when I was into the wind. Bit at least I’ve been out.
