Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

What do you know today, that you did not yesterday?

That my garmin watch can detect the HR monitor from someone else.

I have a Garmin Forerunner 15, though I don't have the HR monitor device and therefore my HR is never recorded. I ran parkrun today with my mate, who has a more up to date Garmin than me and he does have a HR monitor. As we set off I noticed that the message 'heart rate monitor detected' flashed on my watch, which I've never seen before.

Having downloaded the data I can now see that my mate Dave's average HR during PR today was 142bpm!!

the giant house spider held the Guinness Book of World Records for top spider speed until 1987 when it was displaced by solifugids, although the latter are not true spiders

OS: in which part of the world are you making your declaration? Depending on where you are you might be talking about what others call turnips or neeps.

Not a thing I learned today, but I was stunned when I discovered swedes originated as a hybrid of turnip and cabbage.
