Love the bluebells and house viewing newts. I ran a 5k route today which I thought would make a good 'winter' course for our parkrun - we are pretty waterlogged on part of the course at the moment and our current 'alternative' only avoids a very small amount of the wet course. Basically I have put in an extra loop in the start/finish area which allows us to shorten the course at the other end and avoid the worst area but our ED has deemed this a 'significant' change rather than a 'tweak' (which was what I had assumed it would be seen as) that will have to be submitted to HQ as if it is a whole new event. So I guess it might be in place by next winter which seems a very long time for something that really we need to do now. Still it's now in the review by the team stage so the start of a newt at least! |

Ooh! I'm it! Thanks WA, the lido is magic, it kept me smiling throughout Thursday. No real newt for me today, although I did go out earlier with the dog than usual, am definitely enjoying the lighter mornings. |

I haven’t really got a newt to share other than the newtly plastered walls which are now dry, I shall be painting with base coat at the weekend. |

A newt for me in the summer will be doing my first ultra in the “Last One Standing / Backyard Ultra” format. So tonight, my running buddy and and I did a bit of preparation for it. We ran a roughly 4.16mile loop that started and finished at my house, then we rested for the remaining time that took us up to 60mins then headed out again to repeat the process. We just did three laps tonight but it’s certainly a weird feeling finishing the lap and waiting to head out again. For the real event we’ll be desperately refuelling, changing clothes etc in those hanging around minutes and deciding if we can face another lap 😂 This is the one I’ve entered runyarocket.com |
