There are so many good newts to choose from. The pomodoro technique is another great example of many of us learning something from someone else's newt. All the little changes to routine- just stepping out of the norm.

But because it looked and sounded lovely, and made my heart sing- I'm choosing poppy's evening lido dip

Here's mine for today - it's quite complicated and will last for three weeks:

My first multi-event comp of the year is in three weeks. Today my coach has constructed/tweaked my training plan so the emphasis is on the competition.

I've never had such a concentrated and 'proper' lead in before. All I have to do is stick to it, not do extras, approach each session with the training aims properly in mind (power, speed and technique mainly.)

It's like tapering ... but, because of the nature what I do, rather more focused and specific. Hope that doesn't sound pompous!

Sounds exciting.

I have a newt that I think I also had last year but forgot. In my herb bed - mostly a thuggish sage now, two bluebells have suddenly appeared. Mum must have shoved them in some time ago, and they seem to have come up overnight. I remember this happened last year too, but had forgotten in the interim ifswim. They are such a lovely colour of blue.

Most of you know the score. Much in the bizarre way Easter has come to mean Chocolate, Lent is mainly thought of as an opportunity to Give Up Chocolate. At least until Easter.
