Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Hi, I am to try sub 3.30 at Chester Marathon in October. I started marathon training yesterday. My times are a bit slower than what they should be, but I did 3.31 at London so am going to go ahead I think and aim for the times set out in the plan.

I'm reaonably hopeful of repeating the feat, assuming I've not peaked too soon...

Well I think there are 16-17 weeks to Abingdon. I am at least a stone heavier where I need to be come race time. Time to start eating/drinking sensibly. Did 18 Miles today to kick off training. Boythat was tough and was incentive enough to lose a pile of flab !!! :)

* hops off injury bnch back onto thread*

eh up all

I'm aiming for sub 330 form for Snowdonia Marathon Eryri in October. If I get to this level of fitness, I'll probably do 3.40 given the nature of the course.

But this thread will elp.

VLM was a disaster - was all ready for a sub 3.30 (it wouldve ben close) then Dr said dont run (lung problems). Went of steroids so put withg on. Tore calf so put more weight on. Ate like a pig so put more wight on. BUT Now on loads of drugs so should be OK for Snowdonia.

Then I run my deffered VLM next year - will I be cocky enough to jump on the 315 thread by then?

BOOM!

Hi all :-) sorry for the absence and delay in updating the header, we were away for the last 2 weeks so whilst I could do the odd lurk on my phone, I couldn't really post let alone update the header! let me know if there is anything else to add...

Starting to think properly about Abo training now. I need to lose the 3-4 lbs I gained on hols plus ideally another few and up the mileage again. I managed about 60m in the 2 weeks we were away which is more than I'd usually do - and was lots of coastal paths, hills, offroad stuff. I would like to go for 3:25 or less in the Autumn - not sure I could step up to aim for 3:20 but will see how things go. I did a 14 and a 15m LSR while on hols which with the gradient and terrain felt harder than that distance, and hoping to do 18 this weekend incorporating our quadruple parkrun event!!
