Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I think this is one of the better videos I’ve seen from London. Nick Bester did 2:20 in Berlin but paced the second non elite female around to 2:36 at London. Amazing how he makes that pace look so easy. He’s a bit of a showman but he’s off to Chicago this weekend and Cape Town marathon the weekend after.

11:26 if you watch in HD you can see a Fetch-cap bedecked thread poster :-)

I remember his show boating on the Bridge. Good vid, thanks!

Glad I wasn't running at the same pace as him - his showboating would have been really annoying if you'd been on the limit and he's arsing around. Comes across as a bit of a tw*t, although a very fast tw*t !

I was amazed how many of the sub 2:30 brigade really wanted to get a finish line-style cheer on Tower Bridge. That's one of the abiding memories with me. At 12.5 miles in, there's no-one there who isn't capable of a pretty fast pace if you're watching until about 1hr20-1h25 and a tonne of them were bigging up the crowd, hi-fiving supporters, taking selfies etc etc. It was actually quite heartening to see that "serious" runners were enjoying themselves.

FOD Runner has done a very emotional video. He has been very respectful in this, but he was there at the incident where the runner died :(

thanks for these shares Big_G. I'll have to watch the FOD one a little later but the Nick Bester one was brilliant - he really captures the London race day vibe and larkim you are also going to love that feeling as you go over Tower Bridge when it's your turn - you can hear it coming before you even see it, it's really the most incredible experience and it is hard not to dive in to it tbh.

What a run from his pacee, hey? To me, she looks all a bit uncomfortable from a style perspective right from the off but her expression never changes. How do you do that?!

Yeah, I understand Nick Bester is probably not everyone’s cuppa tea, but his training series in the run up to Berlin was fantastic (as was Matt Fox - Sweat Elite). Personally I thought his London one was a great video and captured the atmosphere very well. It was an easy run for him, but seeing the lady smash her PB was brilliant I thought.

Yeah, really sad video from FOD. I’ve followed him on YouTube for ages and he seems a really nice chap, and obviously what happened with that runner was very emotional for him. Very sad.

I'll watch the FOD Runner video later aswell, total respect for Nick Bester though. Fair enough he had a place and was probably not going to challenge a pb after Berlin but to pace someone to a 7min pb at that pace is well worth kudos in my eyes. Showboating doesn't bother me and if you enjoy that sort of thing then go for it. I don't but that's because i'm either on the limit of my ability of i've overstepped the mark and into the death march ;-)
