Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sorry to be late to the TREMENDOUS news from Lou and Stoosh. Congratulations you lovely people.

I'm glad I don't have to think about having to run a solo virtual GFA, because I honestly don't think I could have. Or let's say, get within 8-10 minutes of 'true' race result at any given time. I'm quite sure that a good part of race day performance is the mental and physical rest/focus. Everything that week is about the race. And then adrenalin on the day. I don't think I could fake any of that and trick myself.
(and then the benefits on top of that of running in group(s) on the day, which are unarguable)

9 with 6 at target virtual london pace tonight. Well a wee bit faster. HR was well within the normal range for marathon pace so quite happy with that :-)

This marathon in York seems to be still on. Not on roads so more likely not to be cancelled possibly?

Dorney Lake Marathon is still on for the 4th. There’s loads of people running sub 3 (the start is in waves so you can tell). I’ll b there, but won’t be going sub 3.

I would be nervous doing any race at the moment (I pulled out of Bath Half at the start of this) but Dorney Lake is so f***ing windy it’s probably one of the safest places to run.

Coniston trail marathon is still on for the 4th too - I'll be doing my virtual London there. Not a hope in hell's chance of GFA on that course though 🤣

Nice to hear of some actual races going ahead and like the idea of people doing a virtual marathon in a real one sort of a two for one offer
