Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I would say that it depends how wide his feet are too. I have wide feet and therefore favour Brooks and NB. My mate has narrow feet and uses Saucony for the fit. I would also say that Adidas generally fit narrow and Asics who used to be good and wide are generally quite narrow now. Obviously it is possible to get wide fittings on some of these but they are things to consider along with budget and what type of foot strike you have etc etc

Interesting otg, thanks. I'd never really considered that different brands had different foot shape philosophies.

That's true actually. I'll probably never try Saucony again, such an odd shaped shoe!

That can't be true, 13:13 would be parkrun "world record" wouldn't it?

His previous pb was 16:13 2 weeks ago - 3 min improvement would be some going in 2 weeks !!

Long day at the XC yesterday, arrived 10:40 to coordinate U11s and walk the course, didn't leave until 3:30 after my race. Heavy going, blowing a gale and one very soggy field full of muddy, grassy puddles. Only really got in the swing of things on lap 3, but enjoyed the last lap immensely as I must have picked up perhaps 15 places as I benefitted from taking lap 1 steady. But most importantly, calf stood up to the elevation, challenging ground and uneven surface; a bit of tightness in the first half of lap one as I loosened up after a day of standing around in the cold, but after that nothing at all to be felt, and no post-race soreness.

And a bit of nice serendipity, my better half and myself both finished in spot #162 in our respective races!

Merry Christmas & Happy New G(rrr)
I definitely feel the calves / Achilles under strain on the XC larks. A good tester, and good news.

Loved my XC on Saturday. Cold, wet, muddy, tough. Perfect! :-) G
