Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I think I might use a combination of the two. Do some MP runs on the flat to lock in those pace times and gain confidence then some MP effort on rolling routes.

I looked back to pre Chester and found to my surprise I did a few MPs on my undulating 10 mile route. Presumably with the Chester route in mind

Mancs is a pancake flat course, maybe flattest in the country?

My Fetch training log shows Manchester as 45.5% flat, and Abingdon as 46.6% flat!

It is. The only "climb" is the flyover at Altrincham and that's hardly worth mentioning!

Fergus - Log also shows 44% of the rest of the race at 1% uphill or downhill, flat as you're going to get TBF.

What does that fetch number mean? I can run 5 km on my treadmill and 5km up Ingleborough and that’s 50% flat!

The Fetch number is literally flat. It then says how much percentage of the race is at different grades up and downhill so Manchester has 45.5% flat, 44% at 1% (it shows how much is up and down), 9% at 2%. So flat near as damn it.

Boston (Lincs) is wayyyyyy flatter than Mancs, not so much as a bridge, and definitely nothing as mountainous as a flyover
