Slug pellets have been deployed because they're a bit puny to be going out into their final position. The others will be potted on; their final position is still occupied by winter flowering pansies that have gone manic. I can't rip up all those little faces.

Russian Giants from ancient seeds are still going strong, and Tall Single needs to straighten out a bit. Though none as tall as Nightjar's look just yet!

4. Disasters are to be posted so we can all laugh/commiserate/laugh at them

5. All forms of growing aids are allowed. There's no drug testing in this competition so if you find the Lance Armstrong of Sunflowers - grow it and win !

6. Bigleggy always wins ;-)

7. As the national flower of Ukraine is the Sunflower, the Russian Giant variety is banned.
