Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Have a really good one @rhb some head wind is ok, it fills your lungs with some over pressure, almost like a turbo or compressor and if it’s from an other direction just sail on it :)

Run strong!

Good luck, RHB. It was windy when I did Abingdon, we were at the back end of a big storm and turning some corners was grim with headwinds. On one gust, I got blown halfway across a road in an industrial estate. I missed a PB that day by 14 seconds!

Hope it's OK for you, or at least in your back.

Ha. @G-Dawg was there with @FergusG and me back in 2017! Small world.

Don’t worry rhb….that was the day of virgin sub 3s and you’re in far, far better shape than we were going in to that day!

Groups though. Find a group, particularly on that tiny uphill that’ll be in to the wind.

rhb - you are, as WW says, in better shape than we were on that day. Your recent half-marathon PB is about 3 minutes faster than the one I carried into Abingdon!

all - Berlin 2025 ballot is currently open...

Jomo, sounds like a great run to me, congrats!

Rhb, good luck Sunday.

G dawg, yes we can sort something closer to time re meet up. It'll be a six star party.

Just at airport in Chicago, on way home. Been a great little break, really enjoyed it, made all the better with a decent race outcome.

Tempted to enter Berlin, once accepted do they automatically take the payment or do you have the option to decline the entry?

Only charged if/when you’re successful, but you are fully committed at point of applying…

We received your registration for the lottery for a race entry in the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2025 on September 21, 2025! It is no longer possible to change or cancel your registration.

This is not yet a confirmation for your race entry!

Thanks all for good luck and windy anecdotes.

In the spirit of nothing being simple I seem to have pulled something in my back last night. Todays run (5 miles easy inc. 8x10s strides) went ok as there are no specific running movements that make it painful. Sitting / household task stuff on the other hand has occasional yelp pain. So annoying. Hoping that just by stretching gently, keeping moving, and most importantly not fretting it'll ease off over the next couple of nights.

Otherwise I'm now eating like it's a contest, I love this part of race week. Garmin fully charged today also so one less thing to forget to do.
