Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

You're improving no end GM and won't want pacing to a sub 30 5k, in fact you may end up doing me a favour and pushing me along when I return :-)

Threshold run ✅ Set my Garmin pace bands this week because I wanted to go a bit slower than last week’s tempo pace (it’s quite warm/I’m nursing a bit of a niggle / I wanted to do 2.5 miles tempo instead of 2 miles). Managed to be spot on with tempo pace, but only because my Garmin kept shouting at me! So it was a bit fast/slow/fast/slow 😬

That's the usual problem Lin, unless I'm on a long run my pace fluctuates quite a bit, especially intervals and tempo runs.

I don’t set pace bands with my Garmin but think I should make better use of the kit I’ve got. Mind you, my current Garmin is getting old. I bought it in November 2016 because there was a Black Friday deal. The battery life isn’t very good any more so I’d like to replace it but not sure what to buy.

Ness, I’ve got a Garmin 735xt which I bought in an Amazon sale last year. I don’t usually set pace bands as I like to run by ‘feel’, but I wanted to try it out today.

Useful to know. Thanks, lin. I’ll look at the Garmin 735xt spec. I currently have a 235.

Ness,I had a 235 it was the worst watch for battery life ,any way after 6 replacements I sold it and bought a 735xt which I loved but it developed a fault sent it back and after 8 weeks they lost the watch.I bought in a Black Friday sale so only got what I paid for and not a replacement. So pay £100 more for same watch or upgrade to Fenix 5 XS for same price. The Fenix is all I want and more and has all the features I missed from the 310XT.
