Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The one scanner per 50 finishers is fine if they're all finishing together. If they have a decent spread, you don't need as many. Looking at our scanners on Saturday, one scanned around 60 or so finishers, another scanned 11 or so, another was similarly low...

Ours were remarkably even this week. One of the scanners was a fast finisher who stepped in; each of the three did around 41 runners.

There will be a T-shirt for most scans soon.

Bob!
we had between 41 & 56 for our 4 scanners, with 10-15 more from each from 3 run/scanners at the peak

On the Cardiff course I always say that 2 marshals out on the course would be plenty to ensure everyone went the right way. Obviously that is not the only reason to have them out there.

Had to appeal yesterday as only had marshals and no one else. Now I've got just about enough volunteers to put the run on, but am still short about 6 roles that we could do with. I am past being jolly in my emails now. It's too boring and tiring. Perhaps we won't do NYD if it's going to be like this.

we have been okay for vols since mentioning we will cancel if not enough by 2000 on Thurs - so if we had been short this week we would have cancelled an hour ago.

I know exactly how you feel

I've had an email for the first time in ages - looks like Hudds parkrun has been doing most of their volunteer comms on FB since the pandemic, which would explain why I've not seen it (they used to use twitter which is a lot more accessible to someon without logins for either). Planning to volunteer on Saturday if I get a pass to get out of the house...

Depends on the length of the funnel I reckon, we have 1 FM max for approx 200 runners and an 8m funnel
