I can see that they have need for funnel managers - 39 people came in between 28 and 29 minutes, 38 between 29 and 30 minutes, almost a runner a second needs to be kept moving, and the funnel needs to be long but I doubt the need for five!

Spideog, that’s assuming every parkrun has a nice long finish funnel and lots of space. Ours doesn’t, we have a narrow finish area, our funnel has two channels for the runners (and one in the middle for the person on tokens). We really need at least 3 funnel managers, and a fourth can be useful.

I have very mixed feelings - I do want to be helpful and I don't want to be a selfish free-rider, but that volunteer list does look like more volunteers than is needed for (last week) 465 parkrunners, and standing around in hi-viz with nothing to do is thoroughly frustrating. (I think next time I'll volunteer early and ask for timing or scanning )

You’ve only got to take your eye off the ball for a split second and someone is ducking out or overtaking someone in the funnel. 🙄
