Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Mm. I keep looking at the cost of a properly waterproof phone and realising it would be cheaper to write off a couple of non-waterproof phones over a couple of years.

Yeah. We might buy a phone and a waterproof case. But we need a lot of new stuff and we can't afford it all.

Linds, I thought I read that HQ would replace broken timers and scanners. Just email event support. By the way, you can get phone covers from HQ as well. They are really cheap (£3 each I think) and work well. I believe there is a new procurement method you need to use. I believe it’s on the wiki but if you can’t find it then gmail me and I’ll send you a link.

We are app only for juniors, and to be honest, I love it, I'm a total convert. The scanners know when they've scanned correctly, results are a doddle and the timer is really easy. I've timed in the rain- we have a couple of waterproof cases, like a small map case, that you can get both the phone and your hand in.

:-( LG

Linds, I too am an app convert and was wholly app'd the last time I RD'd. However, they are not totally foolproof, I think it's worth having 1 watch and 1 app for timing for a week or two until your volunteers get used to the app and the foibles of their phone (one of our core team's Sony Experia has been flaky on several occasions.)

No LG I think they are commenting on a death at 'another parkrun', whch I guess means the Stewart fatality.
