Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

As part of a balanced exercise routine I have just done 5, 5 then 18 proper pressups. The reason for doing 18 was that I did 17 yesterday, so I will always try to make the last set a bit harder until I only just make the 3 x whatever. Who says I am mad?

Sounds like a good way of keeping things ticking over while it is freezing outside. But I think I'll stop at a full marathon ie 3x26, that'll be Boxing Day if I assume I started on 1 December. *Rushes off to make sure he can do 3x4*

Not sure how I will do the last .2 for marathon matching. Maybe 2x26 plus 1x27 will see me racing through the line.

Go for it.

3 x 5 done :-). I really like Matt's idea of aiming at 3 x 33. That's going to be my goal too...3 x 100 would be a bit pie in the sky.

Have you not heard of Mylo of Croton, Dogtanian? Little steps and you'll get there, no matter how tough a task you take on.

(Mylo of Croton was challenged to carrya full-grown bull for a given distance. He went and got himself a newborn calf and carried that along the course every day. As the calf grew he got stronger and by the time it was fully grown he could manage the taks and win the bet.)

I just did 3 X 6. Huraah!

Come on then, Pammie. You only need to start with 3 X 1. Even the greatest oak began with a little acorn. Even the longest journey started with a single step.

Quite the philosopher aren't you :)

Will do give me a little while wait till my dinner goes down. If this works may actually try this for squat thrusts as well

About This Thread

Maintained by Dogtanian
Start on day 1 with 3 x 1 press up. On day 2 move to 3 x 2 and keep increasing by one every day. If you fail to do the target for the day then you try the same number the next day, only increasing when you have done the session properly. The Marathon talk challenge is to get to 3 x 100 push ups.

There are no real rules except all three sets must be done in the same session though. No going to wash your hair/walk the dog in-between sets:-).
