Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Morning all

Today's upper body session I upped the weights

Biceps with dumbbells - on my highest weight, lowest reps, my right arm was fine but my left arm struggled. What's the best way to increase the strength in my left arm?

keep to the same weight on both arms and just rest more between reps on the left but still do the same reps/weight as the right

or not use the higher weight?
or something else?

Pix - I've just been shopping in Aldi, they still have quite a lot of fitness equipment and I noticed this morning they are selling a sling to assist with doing pull ups. I think it was £8.99. I can't find it on their website though.

I think you keep the same weights Pix, use the weakest one to ‘set’ how many you do, or do as many as you can until failure. The weaker one will catch up eventually!

I went to the gym again today and still couldn't get near the barbells, but I did enjoy playing with the individual dumbbells. It is so much easier to change weights when you don't have to keep adding and taking off plates.

GM I agree!
I'm trying to get my head around what exercises when in order to minimise the swapping of plates and if this would work! LOL

Pix - sorry I sent you on a wasted journey to Aldi.

And in case you're wondering about that title, well, I like alliteration and one can be too po-faced about the use of girl/lady/woman.
