Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

German twisted cast on ….. not used it before any good tutorials?
The one I’ve seen makes it look really complicated! (Nimble needles)

Are you looking for a stretchy cast on? I think I used a Norwegian one.

I’ve found trying a different YouTube clip can make all the difference if you don’t understand something first time.

It’s the sockhead cowl

So a stretchy cast on (then castoff which I also don’t know!)
I’ve only ever done a standard cast on cast off!

I’m not even sure there’s a ‘standard’ cast on! There are so many. But definitely worth picking a stretchy one. Unless you’re going for a specific look (eg matching the cast-off edge) it probably doesn’t matter which one you use.

Thanks!

I have been knitting on and off for years but very basic stuff mainly just knit and purl!
Tried a few things once but not enough to feel confident

I must do more now it's winter with longer nights!

Knitting is just knit and purl stitches anyway, it’s just what order you do them in, so it’s just how confident you feel about following a pattern I guess.
