Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

They're not just for recovery though, technically there is no need for recovery, and hence why they make up the most of it and the LTHR runs are only a couple of times a week. It's about just getting out there and doing it, making it the norm so the body adapts efficiently so it is the norm and it becomes effortless.

Ain't got time to read the document in whole and likely to lose what little spare time I have very shortly- also it's not that well written, hard to read from the bits I have indulged in (I'm a technical author and a technical editor so my opinion is professional) , and as the science is ropey HP as I've pointed out (from a purely technical point of view, you cannot quote one study and then misinterpret their conclusions). As far as I see it's implied via the heart-rates, but I don't see why you can't use one of the extrapolators?

Seems like another religious POSE running thread to me, either you are a believer or you will "burn in hell". I'm an atheist unfortunately whose agnostic tendencies diminish over time. Good night and good luck.

I think the actual make up of the scehdule seems to co-incides with alot of other types of methods. As has been said the actual link is for base training. I think because he uses Joe as his subject throws some people off, and as Joe is a talented athelete maybe the distances scare people.

The scedule has in essence from what I can tell easy/recovery runs, general aerobic runs and threshold/tempo runs (80-90% of max hr). It even suggests some intervals where you run 10k (5k fast, 5k recovery jogs). Now from my limited knowledge of various schedules - P&D scehdules which are quite popular, they recommend doing tempo runs (10 mile pace but here even Hadd advises moving up to this from as low as 82% to 88% MHR) at around 85-89% of MHR. Intervals (they recommend doing between 3 to 5k of fast 3-5k pace intervals) mixed in with a decent run with jogged recoveries. As well as a lot easy & general aerobic runs. Again I think the RW scehdules have a similar make up.

Okay he doens't explain it well I agree but isn't this taken from a thread that has since been deleted?

Chris: Nice to see another snobbish, pigheaded mong oinking out they are an atheist as an excuse just so the others like moi get the flak. There is always time to read, and what makes it more amusing is that you haven't even fully read it, and may never do, and yet you stick your nose up and take aim. Yes, the "science" is sketchy, and even he said that himself citing that a chunk of it mainly came from his observations and experiences of what works, but and indeed the plan does work. Well done on making yourself look like a prat, darling. At least have the integrity to properly go over it first.

What also makes me laugh is how lazy you are in instead asking us for the info. How about no?

Sorry, went a tad overkill, but that was an exceptionally arrogant, flawed and incensing piece of posting.
