Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

It’d be a cold day in hell before I got over something like that but then I’ve never come 1st at anything (nor am ever likely to) 😂

Mixed up category prizes often seem to be a common feature of small local fell races where results written down get misinterpreted or confused. It's definitely happened to my better half a couple of times (both in her favour and against), fortunately I'm never in the situation where I will get confused for a prize winner!!

Most of our incorrect results are team prizes going to the wrong teams with incorrect addition on the night - often complicated by both men and women being in the same results but for team purposes they're not which can mean the difference of 1 or 2 points changing the winners.

I nearly missed out on a vet overall series prize because someone was in the wrong category for the entire series but he didn't do the final 2 races so I "scrapped" the win.

Then you've also got the curiosity that different clubs / races take different approaches to various vets prizes again.

All in all well done Curly.

Ta for the kind comments, but CRO (mountain rescue) were literally minutes behind me. I wouldn't want to take any credit where it wasn't due. By the time the YAA appeared he was fully assessed and had defib and oximeter attached.

Think we have 10 spots still open for the English champs version of kettlewell anniversary on Sunday.

Hopefully it'll be a bit sunnier on top than it was last night when we put the stiles out.

I'll be there. Son is racing in the English champs and as it happens we're away with family in Yorkshire too over the weekend so I've volunteered to drive him there, and he insisted I should do it to see how rubbish I am a fell running!

(I say we're "in Yorkshire" but I hadn't quite realised that being 90+ miles away on Scarborough means it's a 2.5 hour drive to get to Kettlewell!)

Say hi if you spot a tall ginger lad in NFR colours with a short balding dad looking out of place fozzy 🤣
