Hello! My blog has already given some examples of my de-cluttering attempts, which does feel a bit like swimming against the tide. I'm married to a man who thought 17 bottles of toilet cleaner was a reasonable number to keep in stock in case of nuclear war. (No, it's not a joke!)I know we are not supposed to seek to change another person, but given the choice between nuclear war and domestic disharmony he decided the odds of dying from radiation poisoning were lower than the alternative if he ever bought another bottle of bleach.
However, as roughly half the clutter is mine I can't get too sanctimonius, and it was only last year that I threw out all the out of date toiletries and make-up, including Miners Panda Eyes eyeshadow from 1970.
I do have another three bags and a car-boot load waiting to go the charity shop, so I'm exceeding my goal of one bag/box per week out of the house. I quite like FlyLady - she sounds like a depressed woman who has pulled herself up by her shoelaces and isn't willing to let go of them, and every so often I have a mad moment and shine the sink. My best tip so far is to clear up for 15 minutes only. I can cope with that

My decluttering this week has been opening and clicking unsubscribe atthe bottomof almost every email I received. Physical decluttering is hampered by the temporary closure of the local tidy tip and the consequent overflowing of all local clothes banks, bottle banks and charity shops.

I won't be shining any sinks or buying any House Blessing Packs, but getting properly dressed including shoes and contact lenses every day is something I've made a point of doing while I've been off work.
I'm a rascal for stockpiling things we use a lot of, which sometimes means that we run out of cat food or washing-up liquid or coffee because I have it in my head that I bought loads so we can't need more, and don't check.

I did that a couple of months ago, Rosehip. I was getting dozens of e-mails every day from online retailers I'd signed up for or bought from, and not looking at any of them. It's SO much better now

after a couple of days my daily new mail count is down to about a dozen. I'll feel very unloved if it ever hits zero!

F ing Fleecy
I did that the other day. Mr fleecy gives our joint email address for orders and the result is lots of junk. I always tick the box that says no junk but the bastards send it anyway, so I tend to use a spam address for stuff I order. Means my main email is nice and uncluttered

I discovered that some websites, such as sportsshoes.com, were spamming me from multiple addresses.

I just went through my wardrobe and binned some really tatty things, collected a carrier bag of things for the charity shop and now have room to hang up some things that had been stuffed in drawers.
